Celebrating Our One-Year Anniversary in Practice

Dr Medhat Ramzy looks back on the first year at our new family practice.

We are delighted to be celebrating our one-year anniversary in practice. It’s been a successful year evidenced by the many happy patients who see us each day. Some are so satisfied with their care that they even send chocolates or bring flowers!

Working Together As a Family to Benefit Patients

It’s lovely to be able to work together as a family and attend to the dental needs of our valued patients. I work with my wife Dr Mona (Dentist), son Dr Anthony (Dentist) and daughter Monica who is the Oral Health Therapist. Each member of our family team has unique training to provide the highest levels of dental care. We often discuss cases so we can provide the care that results in the best outcome for each patient.

Mentoring Future Dentists

Helping aspiring dentists is tremendously gratifying for me. One of my former patients who was under my care since she was 9 years old always loved dentistry. During one of her sister’s appointments, I gave her a surgical mask and gloves and had her stand next to her sister while she was having her teeth cleaned. Fast forward to the present, and that glove-wearing girl achieved her dream by getting into dental school. She is now a second-year dental school student who is working with me during holidays.

Making a Community Impact

Recent research has shown that nationwide many children are experiencing tooth decay and losing teeth earlier than they should be. We want to make a difference by educating children and their parents about the importance of oral hygiene. One of the ways we do that is by visiting our local Kindergartens to talk to children about their teeth and healthy oral habits such as brushing and flossing. Doing so is a terrific way to engage with many local families and make a difference in the outcomes of children’s dental health.
